Harmony

Let's decide this once and for all now, so that we can harmonize our chapters:

  • Do we capitalize the bending forms?
  • Do we use contractions in the descriptive text? (This will not affect the dialogue)
  • Firelord or Fire Lord?
  • Eris' or Eris's?

Also, did we come up with a name for the prologue? If so, I forgot what it was. If not, maybe we should ^^". And will we be adding "previously on" sections? I think we should, since it's always a nice refreshener for people to know what happened in the last chapter without having to read it again.

One last question: why are all the chapters rated as "PG-13"? Nothing happens imo to warrant that rating.

Sounds great. The Grand Re-Posting of Vortex! How exciting.

Okay, so this is how we're going to do it then: I'll delete the chapters now, and when we post, ARG or I will restore the relevant chapter first, and then we'll post over it in order to get the original comments back.

So, when will we post?

My opinion is for posting as soon as we're able to, but any time this week would work. By the way, I drafted a sample of the previously summary for Convergence. I tried to keep certain details vague so as not to reveal anything that hadn't already been revealed. Thoughts?

"The energybending woman by the name of Eris continues to torment Avatar Kin, eventually revealing herself to be his estranged daughter Sakura. After she confronts him for leaving their family alone, a chaotic vortex appears beside five unlikely individuals from different worlds who spoke similar statements at the same time: Kaddo, a Southern Waterbender boy sparring with his cousin, the teenaged Princess Ursa, who sought out dragon eggs near the ancient Sun Warrior civilization, the battle-hardened Yun Zhen who had been spending some well-deserved time with his girlfriend Ty Lee, Yuhan, a Dai Li agent leaving their underground headquarters with his patrol partner, and the earthbender Ling, who was just in the middle of celebrating his recent triumph with his friends on their way to Republic City, his love interest Rong among them. As Eris takes out her anger at Kin not merely on him, but on the world that he is sworn to protect, a similar disruptive energy emerges from behind her."

Hmm, I think it should be more succinct. What if we took out '...who spoke similar statements at the same time' and the explanations of each character's scene? Just their names should be enough.

How about

"Avatar Kin proved to be no match for the unexpected and rare energybending abilities of Eris. The woman revealed herself to be Sakura, his estranged daughter, and she was out for revenge, blaming Kin for leaving their family to wither. By a stroke of fate, Eris's powers connected with five unlikely individuals who were subsequently sucked through a vortex that transcended worlds: Kaddo, a Southern Waterbender from Template:F; the teenaged Princess Ursa from Template:F; the battle-hardened Yun Zhen from Template:F; Yuhan, a Dai Li agent from Template:F; and the metalbender Ling from Template:F. Before Eris could finish what she had trained for for years, the quintet dropped unannounced into her world, prompting her to investigate and postpone Kin's execution."

The templates are your respective stories, as it seems more important to me that the readers know for sure which universe which character originates from than that they remember what those characters were doing at the moment the vortex came, cause that really doesn't matter.

Hmmm...that actually sounds pretty good to me. I don't consider "breaking the fourth wall" to be a problem here either, since it's only in the summary of the previous chapter.

This sounds good. One question: is Ling actually a metalbender?

Yes, according to Slash's description of him.

Wow, okay. Good to know!
